What light can do?
The LICHTCAMPUS is a transdisciplinary platform for research, experiment and exchange on what light can do. The University of Applied Sciences Wismar invites academics, professionals and industries to present their approach on light as material, tool and medium. Hosted by the Master Degree Courses of Architectural Lighting Design, the LICHTCAMPUS provides a framework of critical debate on light as the innovation driver of the 21st Century.
International, inter-disciplinary, across institutions
Academies, institutes and industries are invited to present and to discuss their response to ecological demands, socio-cultural challenges and the need for sustainable developments. Concepts, policies and practice examples are welcome to be part of lectures, workshops and production.
Traditionally innovative
The LICHTCAMPUS productions will lead to an exhibition in Wismar city space. The medieval center of Wismar is listed as UNESCO World Heritage because it was a major trading center of the Hanseatic League in the 14th and 15th centuries. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Wismar became Swedish administrative and contributed to the development of the characteristic building types and techniques of Brick Gothic in the Baltic region. LICHTCAMPUS will refer to the potential of innovation that profited from the international exchange of material, technology and ambition.
