_ A city light plan game

Green areas, alleys, commercial areas: Many areas of a community or city that contribute to their attractiveness by day, emanate a rather uncomfortable atmosphere at night. It is the darkness or on the other hand the excessive illumination that makes these areas seem confusing, leading to feelings of insecurity among women and girls. The light artist Claudia Wissmann wants to counter this feeling on different levels.

Therefore, she has developed the concept of a city-light-plan-play with nightwalks – walks in the dark –
Together with women students she wants to identify the areas that are rather shunned in the dark. Small spontaneous interventions that thematise the sense of security of women in public spaces are the subject of the workshop.
