_ Introduction to working with light, motion and interaction

What does lighting design have to do with movement?
Designing and planning with light as a form of interaction design: It is our eyes movement that “explores” our surrounding and is guiding us gently hand in hand with our visual habits through space.

In the workshop :: sensing space :: we work at the interface between body and space.
Confronted with active physical movement and guided improvisation tasks, we foremost enable a different approach on how we perceive and reflect on what has been seen and experienced. We “reboot” first our sensory instruments before we immediately move on to lighting experiments and design tasks in space. Boundaries resolve and unfamiliar perspectives might inspire.

Main focus is to see, experience and work with space intuitively and different than usual.
Enriching our point of view with other senses, we are sharpening our focus, recognizing correlations and responding intuitively. In this open experimental frame our output will manifest in works on the subject of light, space, movement and interaction.

This workshop aims in particular on overdemanding its’ participants visual habits and patterns of thought. Out of the box thinkers welcomed.
