Reminiscing over playful memories from one’s childhood, we have introduced “fireflies”, an interactive installation that fills the path leading to the university. 700 fireflies made from thin wires, plastic balloon cups and battery powered low watt LEDs are spread out along the back entrance of the university. These change colours, from blue near the canal to white and to warm white and yellow closer to the entrance. They also varied in height, ranging from 1m to 20cm. The children and adults can play with them. This makes the “fireflies” move and sway, almost as if one was surrounded by a swarm of these magical creatures.
